A group of England players including Declan Rice and Jordan Henderson partied into the early hours of Wednesday morning after drawing with Belgium at Wembley. Jude Bellingham‘s late leveller ensured the spoils were shared in a 2-2 stalemate as the Three Lions missed out on victory for the second game in a row.

After the match, several players went to the Chiltern Firehouse in London to party with James Corden and were not spotted leaving the venue until the early hours of Wednesday morning. Corden, a West Ham supporter, was said to have organised the night out to celebrate Rice’s landmark 50th cap for England.

Pop star Harry Styles was also at the venue alongside the likes of Corden, Rice, Henderson, Bellingham and James Maddison. A source inside the Chiltern Firehouse said the England players enjoyed a ‘relaxed and boozy’ night sitting at a table booked by Corden.

The group were not pictured leaving the private members’ club until after 4am, around six hours after the final whistle blew at Wembley. The game saw England snatch a dramatic draw in their final outing of the international break just days after losing to Brazil in another friendly.

England were dominant for much of the contest but found themselves behind at the break, with Ivan Toney’s penalty sandwiched between two goals from Belgium midfielder Youri Tielemans. The hosts were eventually rewarded for their persistence when Bellingham struck from close range to level the scores with virtually the last kick of the game.

The result spared the blushes of Gareth Southgate, who was just seconds away from becoming the first England boss to oversee successive home defeats since Roy Hodgson in 2013. His full focus will now be on squad selection ahead of this summer’s Euros, with the final 23-man list needing to be submitted by June 7.

Speaking after the final whistle against Belgium, Southgate was quick to heap praise on youngster Kobbie Mainoo who impressed on his full debut for England in midfield.

“He has had a fabulous week with us,” said Southgate. “Everything that we’ve seen with his club, he reproduced in an England shirt which isn’t always the case. Very calm, receives the ball so well under pressure, strong, so we are a little bit more open playing that way but the benefits with the ball were clear to see.

The England boss also praised Bellingham’s competitive spirit after his late equaliser, saying: “That desire not to lose, desire to win in the end, was decisive in getting the late goal.

“But I thought the whole team showed that throughout the game and recovered from setbacks with a pretty inexperienced team, really, against a team that have got some very, very good players. Very pleased with a lot of what I saw tonight.”
